The Hardware

The Jalio Water Pod

The Jalio pod is built on a buoyant orange PVC pipe frame — rugged, lightweight and entirely self-contained. A waterproof electronics enclosure houses the ESP32 microcontroller, sensor boards, and 4G module, while a solar panel on top keeps the battery charged indefinitely in field conditions.

The design is field-proven — successfully deployed in an open water body during live monsoon conditions, with readings streaming to the cloud dashboard in real-time.

Jalio Technologies is founded by Pranav Bhat and incubated at the Krishik – Agri Business Incubator, UAS Dharwad. The company targets inefficient, manual water quality monitoring in fish, prawn and paddy cultivation — replacing guesswork with real-time IoT intelligence.

The Jalio pod was deployed in an ancient stone reservoir during active monsoon rainfall — proving waterproof integrity, solar performance in overcast conditions, and real-time 4G data transmission.

What the Pod Measures

pH Sensor
Measures acidity/alkalinity. Formula: −3.0951V² + 5.641V + 7.8516. Calibration applied per buffer solution. Range validated 0–14 in firmware.
Range: 0–14 pH · ±0.1 accuracy · Output: 0–3.0V
TDS Sensor
Total Dissolved Solids via cubic polynomial: 133.42V³ − 255.86V² + 857.39V × 0.5. Phase-switched with pH to prevent interference. Median filtered.
Range: 0–1000 ppm · ±10% FS · Working: 3–6mA
Turbidity
Cloudiness detection using light scatter. Formula: −1120.4V² + 5742.3V − 4352.9 NTU. Field readings: 2396–2874 NTU in tested water body. Digital threshold output available.
Output: 0–4.5V analog · <500ms response · 5V supply
Temperature
DS18B20 digital OneWire sensor with waterproof stainless probe. 4.7kΩ pull-up on PCB. Field readings: 25.1–32°C. Used for dissolved oxygen compensation formula.
Range: −55°C to +125°C · ±0.5°C · Digital OneWire
